Overweight
You are overweight if your BMI (Body Mass Index) is too high. You can easily figure out your own BMI by dividing your weight by your squared height (= height x height). If you have a BMI between 19 and 25, you have a healthy weight.
Your BMI could be just under 25 but you could still want to lose a few kilos for aesthetical reasons. Above 25 you are overweight and we advise you from a medical point of view to lose weight as soon as possible. A BMI above 30 indicates obesity which is a serious health risk. If you are obese, losing weight is really necessary.
Overweight can cause back-, hip-, and knee problems, exhaustion and shortness of breath. Your daily activities will be seriously restricted by these symptoms. Serious overweight causes illnesses like cardio-vascular deceases, hypertension, high cholesterol or diabetes. Our treatment has a positive effect on overweight related health problems. In many cases you can reduce or even stop the medication you are taking for these problems. This will of course be done in mutual consultation with us and your own doctor.
